Organizational visit at the host institution, i.e. the UTBILDNING NORD Training Center

2nd DAY OF TRAINING -  12.02.2019

Observation of classes at specialist workshops:

  • meeting with Utbildning Nord trainers

    Arto Hyvärinen, Jörgen Miettinen, Jari Ylitapio

  • presentation of classes in specialized laboratories
  • discussion between Polish and Swedish teachers / trainers regarding the classes - comparison and conclusions

Consulting meeting with the management and training staff of ZSE and Utbildning Nord:

  • methods of teaching and implementing students’ curriculums
  • examination system and ECVET
  • organization and conducting of trainings

3rd DAY OF TRAINING - 13.02.2019

Participation in classes at specialist laboratories

  • observation of classes in information and electronic technologies conducted by the Swedish trainer
  • insights and conclusions regarding various solutions and other ways of dealing with issues at Polish school

Conducting training in information and electronic technologies by Swedish trainers for Polish staff.

Conclusions and common discussion allowing to compare the thematic scope of classes in Polish and Swedish institutions.



4th DAY OF TRAINING - 14.02.2019

Observation of classes at specialist workshops:

  • analysis of didactic materials, including exercise instructions
  • conversations with Swedish students / students, allowing to improve the English language 

The interest of Polish teachers in the possibility of professional training abroad.

Discussion of project participants and Swedish trainers on innovative teaching techniques and methods, checking knowledge and activating to work.



5th DAY OF TRAINING - 15.02.2019

  • Observation of classes at specialist laboratories conducted by Swedish teachers / trainers. Discussion with Polish and Swedish teachers / trainers regarding trainings, drawing conclusions.
  • Summary meeting. Discussing the results of the ZSE staff internship in UTBILDNING NORD. Planning further cooperation within the Erasmus+ Program and in other areas, in particular in the area of mutual exchange of students and teachers for apprenticeships, implementation of the ECVET system, dissemination and implementation of results in partner institutions.
  • A visit to the secondary school in Finland Ammattiopisto Lappia Vocational College:
    • Familiarizing with the didactic base of the school and the education system in this institution

    • Exchange of experience at work

    • Comparison of the education system in Finland and Poland

    • Establishing new contacts to establish cooperation with this training institution in the future.

Summary and conclusions of the training:

The "Job Shadowing" training of ZSE teachers at Utbildning Nord enabled direct contacts with foreign trainers, observation of training in a modern training institution, learning effective training methods and different rules of cooperation between training institutions and the labor market. Teachers taking part in observations in Sweden find many positive results. They had the opportunity to repeat their English skills while preparing before leaving, and then check the ability to use English language in everyday and business contacts during the observation of training activities. Extremely valuable experience is direct participation in classes conducted for Scandinavian students, and then analysis and evaluation of the didactic process together with Swedish trainers. This was an opportunity to compare the teaching methods used, to reflect on the effectiveness of teaching and the purposefulness of the content. We compared education systems in Sweden, Finland, Norway and Poland. The differences consist in the lack of external examinations confirming professional qualifications in the Scandinavian system. Then on a flexible education time adapted to cognitive abilities and students’ involvement in learning process. Vocational training in the Scandinavian style focuses on the practical learning of the profession under the supervision of an instructor, with emphasis on independence and responsibility for the effects of work. Employers report the need for specific specialists, and the costs of training are entirely covered by the state. Teachers' exchange is essential for expanding competences, implementing new teaching methods and improving interpersonal skills. Thanks to this observation, we gained knowledge of good practice abroad. We have learned a different approach to teaching vocational subjects, we have broadened our knowledge about the Scandinavian education system. We have observed with interest the social relations and cultural differences between our countries. The conclusions from foreign internship are implemented by teachers in everyday work, for example through the student's motivation to learn foreign languages, emphasis on the independence of learning, focusing on practical skills. All these aspects are important for employers along with an individual professional development path according to European standards, e.g. Europass or ECVET.

Wymiana nauczycieli jest niezbędna do poszerzania kompetencji, wdrażania nowych metod nauczania i doskonalenia  umiejętności interpersonalnych. Dzięki tej obserwacji    zdobyliśmy wiedzę z zakresu dobrej praktyki za granicą. Poznaliśmy inne podejście do nauczania przedmiotów zawodowych, poszerzyliśmy wiedzę na temat skandynawskiego systemu edukacji. Z zainteresowaniem obserwowaliśmy stosunki społeczne oraz różnice kulturowe między naszymi krajami.

Wnioski ze stażu zagranicznego nauczyciele wdrażają w codziennej pracy edukacyjnej, np. poprzez większą motywację ucznia do nauki języków obcych, nacisk na samodzielność nauki, ukierunkowanie na umiejętności praktyczne, ważne dla pracodawców, zachęcanie do kształtowania ścieżki rozwoju zawodowego zgodnie ze standardami europejskimi, np. Europass, czy ECVET.
